Whether the online poker rooms continue to accept US players will depend on the future legal issues in the United States of America. The UIGEA (Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act) act is being challenged by several parties including iMEGA (The Interactive Media Entertainment & Gaming Association) who have filed for a restraining order on the enforcement of the act until the pending court challenge on the constitutionality of the act.
If they are successful then it will be great news for poker players from the USA (Americans) and online casino players alike as it could pave the way for online poker sites / online poker rooms and casinos to re-enter the U.S. market. There are also calls for regulation in order to legitimize US online poker, license operators and raise revenue through taxation, at the end of the day the only reason they tried to ban it was because they weren't getting their slice of the pie! Please remember, there are still numerous US real money poker sites accepting US players / real money online poker sites that allow US players.
