Sit and Go Tournaments Strategy
Sit and Go or Single Table Tournaments are one of the most exciting and growing online hold’em games.
There are some advantages on this kind of tournaments.
1) It’s fast, it takes about 1 hour to finish one of this tournaments;
2) It’s happening every time, it’s not a scheduled tournament so, as long as there are 10 players, you can start it when you want;
3) Unlike the multi-table tournaments, your opponents are always the same along the tournament, it makes possible a best observation of the other players and adjust your play to them.
My strategy to play this kind of tournaments is:
1) Observe very closely how the 2 players on your left and the player on your right play, some of the strategies that you’ll use it’s dependent of the way these players play;
2) In the beginning of the tournament, play AA, KK, QQ and AKs very strongly (I go all-in if I feel that the other players will call my all-in).
3) Raise 4 times the Big Blind with AK, AQs, JJ and TT unless there’s a big raise from another player before you or if the 2 players on your left are maniacs that go all-in with marginal hands, in this case you have to do your best judgment and adjust your play to your opponents.
4) In middle and late position limp in with pocket pairs 66, 77, 88 and 99 and suited connectors 67, 78, 89, 9T, JT, QJ and KQ.
5) When you are against the last 4 players, you can become a little bit looser, you can raise with all 2 faced cards and try to steal some blinds and pots. Most of the players become tighter when you get close to the money, so you can get this to your advantage and win some pots. In this time you should play AA, KK, QQ and AKs more wisely and try to get the best money with this hands, and if you go all-in at this time, the other players will surely fold and you’ll win just the blinds. You should play strong with this hands, raising 3 or 4 times the blind and try to get more other player’s chips.
Well and that’s it, enjoy yourself in STT tables.
