Four Key Poker Skills

Poker sharks are commonly described as tight and aggressive: "These poker pros do not play many hands, but when they play them, they play them like they have the nuts." That's a nice general description, but it doesn't say much. In my opinion, a solid poker player is one who has mastered the four key skills of poker.
Skill #1: Mathematics
Skill #2: Discipline
Skill #3: Psychology
Skill #4: Understanding Risk vs. Reward

I agree. I play few hands but play them strong. This has its dissadvantages when playing on-line as there is always some noob who is running on luck playing every hand possible sat with a massive stack!. I have had my fill of bad beats just recently but thats another story...

i think that it is hard to play tight and aggressive online because there are so so many people just chasing anything. its tough. any way around this problem?

distinguish what type of player they are and use it against them
2 pot odds(know whether or not you can make a certain call in a ceartain situation
3 Feel you have to just have good feel for the game and good instincts
4discipline (the ablilityto shake off bad beats is probably the hardest thing to overcome but once you can do that and continue to play your game you will be well off

# 5 LUCK this is at least 30% of the game.Think about it.You move allin on a flush draw and you have 11 outs. even then its only like 30% give or take.
