Bad beat jackpot misstep
Last tuesday night at our local card room (Turlock, CA). The "Bad beat jackpot" (8's or better) was around 38K. Not a huge jackpot but substantial to most of us at a 3/6 limit table. Angry a losing to quad J's a non-regular player at the room shows, then mucks quad 10's. Several players simultaneously inform the player and the dealer of the mistake...TO LATE!!! Cost to the losing hand...12K+, the winning hand 8K+ not to mention the table and room shares. I can't count the number of times I've seen the best hand get mucked (guilty of it myself) but mucking a bad beat hand.....ouch. Probably an unnessasary reminder but keep your cool and lay your hand face up, well away from the muck. You never know what could happen.
