Letting other people do the raises in Omaha

Hi, just wanted to know your thoughts on raising preflop in Omaha at six-max. Obviously position is crucial. But sometimes I find myself the only person raising on a table, usually with mid-high suited wraparound hands like 89TJ, and I make continuation bets most flops when there have been a couple of callers but I usually miss completely and they easily trap me! Sometimes I find it easier to let someone else be the table maniac and do my betting for me; that way I disguise my hand value, and don't throw away money trying to steal pots. What do you think?

i learn a lot from david benyamine and kaibuxxe playing in Bodog Poker; i think being a maniac is not a bad thing in omaha; i raise like 35-40% of my hands preflop and i usually check on flop when i have nothing (it depends of the number of oponents against you); i check raise strongly my big draws and my big hands and i get payed because of my image of maniac. of course, to play this way you must have a strong bankroll and chose carefully your level of stakes (be aggressiv, reload...until you get a monster).

I think you have hit up a key point. Agressive play in many poker games is the standard, However the fact that there exists many more possibilities with the extra hole cards offers many opportunities to trap. In cash games of course you can't just play AAKK double suited but a realistic approach to hand selection should allow participation in a significant number of hands. I have been advise that you bet the nuts and call with quality draw.
