Only play the blinds

I had an old friend tell me that you should only play the blinds when playing no limit holdem. Does anyone agree? I have tried playing that way, but I guess you can call me loose, because I cant fold Ace-King, or any 2 face cards for that matter. And what if you get dealt a pair and you arent the blind, fold anyway? I'm not too sure about this theory.

if you play only the blinds then you are playing tight and then you will have only 1 good hand an hour on average. just play the premium hands

that is a stupid strategy, it costs you the best position at the table, which is near the button if your only going to play the blinds. in no-limit, position is more critical than any other type of limit. play premium hands, and excercise discretion relative to your position.

i play that way sometimes at home games and it does work if u play against rookies.They think they can bully u around at first but when u bet they all seem to fold thinking since u play so little u must have the nuts....which then gives u some credibility when u bluff bigger pots

I disagree as well. I'd try and put pressure on the blinds whenever I can. Force them to waste their blinds. Protecting your blind is an entirely different matter. It's fine to raise on the blind, with mediocre cards, especially if everyone limped in in front of you. You've can now effectively steal all of their weak calls.

you should only play the blinds if it dont cost you or you have a good hand A K A Q AA KK other then that your in a bad spot first to act

if thats all i played i would constantly be playing with hands like 2,7 since thats all i seem to get on the blinds. most of the time your friend should be folding the small blind unless he has good cards and playing while on the button.
